My name is Emma Granowsky and I am a senior public health major at Davidson College. Academically, I am interested in the intersection of health disparities and social determinants of health. My senior research thesis is titled, “Perceived Social Support and Academic Achievement in an After-School Program for ‘At-Risk’ Youth.” My research seeks to evaluate the relationship between academic achievement and perceived social support among students in a local after-school program, and to provide feedback to program directors. For more information, please, see my ‘Senior Research Thesis’ page.
Additionally, I work part time as a Policy and Research Intern with Teachstone and as a 4th/5th-grade reading instructor at LEARN Works, a local after-school program. I am also passionate about reproductive justice and serve as Co-President of Davidson’s Planned Parenthood Generation Action (PPGA) group on campus. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, listening to podcasts, and finding new restaurants to try out.
